Mandelieu-la Napoule, known as the mimosa capital, is a commune in the department Alpes-Maritimes in France’s southeastern located on the Riviera, equidistant from St Tropez and the Italian border, facing the Lerins islands, southwest of Cannes and northeast of Théoule-sur-Mer. I tis quite a small town with a population of under 20,000, though of course vistors add to this number. It is dominated by its castle, a relatively modern folley, now housing a non-profit arts foundation and lies between the Esterel Massif and the woodlands of Tanneron.
Access
Access for many is via the nearby Cannes airport, but there is a railway station in Napoule.
Activities
Sporting types will love the whole area for sailing, hiking, diving, golf and all the rest, but you can of course just sunbathe, watch the world go by, go for a gentle horse drwn carriage ride, go on a guided walk or dance the night away. Special events take place here in plenty, from the Mimosa Festival in February, mountain bike races and a boat festival in March, a festival of comic books in May, summer fireworks and so it goes on through the year. The tourist office will also be able to give you contacts for many other sporting actiivites, whatever your interest. Apart from tourists the town is also a draw for the business community with the luxurious Expo Congress Centre.

Food is in the main typical of Provence Soupe au Pistou, Aïoli and Bouillabaisse all feature on local menus.

It is easy to reach the surrounding countryside without going through what seems like miles of commercial or industrial estates. It may be that your search for property will take you there – have a good look round, decide upon an area and the type of property you would prefer, as well of course as working out a possible budget, and then contact Sextant properties who will be able to find you a local bi-lingual house agent, one who knows not just the town but all the other places around. They will be familiar with the market and will soon be able to find properties to meet your requirements. The agent will be able to take you on viewing trips and can answer any queries. Soon you will be standing outside your dream property with the keys in your hand. Long may you enjoy it.
