Sorry, did you say … Mayenne?
The department of Mayenne (not to mistaken with the city and the river having the same name and situated within Mayenne!), with 307 000 inhabitants living there, is located in Pays de la Loire region in the north-west of France. It offers every year incredible festivals not to miss.
Whereas Mayenne is not very popular, it however offers many hidden gems such as: the little character town Sainte Suzanne, which has been elected one of the most beautiful villages of France for its beautiful chateau from the medieval times (which was ruled by the companion of Jeanne d’Arc in 1422); the city centre of Laval which offers atypical buildings that you can see on the street of the Pin Dore; the city of Lassay-les-Chateaux which has a surprising chateau!
