Anxious about removal day? Here’s some advice

If you want to use the services of a removal company and want to compare them to be able to chose the better one, the first thing to do is to get a removal quote. These quotes are free and very useful to examine the companies’ expertise.

First, you’ll be able to check their rapidity to provide you with the quote, and then it will give you a price range of their services and will enable you to choose the company that suits your requirements.

To have a quote corresponding to the service you need and not be surprised by the final price, do not forget to show or describe your entire property including the basement, attic, outbuildings, narrow staircases and do not forget to mention any special item such as pianos, plants or pets.

To compare different removal companies properly you can also see which company explains the removal process better and which seems to be the most reliable and the most professional.

If you choose a company which works in partnership with other companies be sure to know the name, address, phone number, and email address of the partner(s).

When you’ve made your choice, simply contact your chosen company and let the professionals move your items.  And even if you can trust them, this does not mean that you shouldn’t keep an eye on your furniture and be sure that everything is fine.

Do not forget to keep the cleaning set: vacuum cleaner, broom, and cleaning products to be able to clean the property before leaving.

When all your items are packed and ready to depart, just have a last look round (cupboards, cellars, basement, garage…) with a professional to be sure that you have everything and more importantly turn off the water, gas and electricity supplies!

Verify the address of the new property and arrange a time of delivery with the removal team.

Finally when everything is done you just have to verify and sign the waybill* and keep a copy of it because this paper will help you in case of transport problems.

*List of goods, animals or persons being carried on a vehicle specifying their nature, point of origin, destination, the route to be taken and the price of the transport.
