An entire Ski resort is for sale in France for 550.000 euros
Last year, the sale of an entire French village gave ideas to others as this year, an entire French ski resort goes on sale.
As he still has one year left before retiring, the owner of a French ski resort located at 1100m of altitude in Auvergne is doing everything he can to sell it.
Everything can be sold in France. Even ski resorts! As he still has a few months to work before his retirement, Marc Trancart, the current owner of the La loge des Gardes resort located in Laprugne, Auvergne is trying to sell it. The resort is 1 hour away from Vichy, lies at 1100m of altitude and to increase the selling possibilities, the resort manager said he put “ads a bit everywhere, even on classified ads websites. It took three years to the previous owner to sell the resort. I only have one year left before I retire so that’s why I’ve decided to sell the resort”.
The price tag of this very unusual property is 550.000 euros and includes the commercial sale buildings, the business lease and the equipments; a price that « corresponds to the assets and the turnover of the business”, points out Trancart. The owner, who “provides a detailed balance sheet along with a complete technical record” to potential buyers says the small resort generates 350.000 euros turnover per year in average. Trancart also declares that this resort has provided a livelihood for his family for 13 years as well as three employees during the summer season and 10 seasonal workers during the winter with an operating scheme “close to the one of a campsite or a hotel”.
Today, the resort includes 3 button lifts that have been replaced between 2009 and 2012, a moving walkway, a ski rental shop with over 500 different equipments, a creperie takeaway shop and maintenance gear. The price also includes an occupancy agreement for the land signed with the Forestry Office and 2 chalets. The current owners also point out the fact that a “technical assistance” will be included “for the first year”.
The family says this property would suit “a young, dynamic and nature-loving couple”; but they do also warn: “people who aren’t serious and don’t have any deposit, please move on!”
