The 19th arrondissement is located in the north-eastern part of Paris, on the right bank of the River Seine. It has four administrative districts:

History
The 19th arrondissement was created in 1860 when several adjacent villages were annexed to Paris. However, discoveries showed that a human presence goes back to the Gallo-Roman period.
Famous places
- Parc de la Villette
Designed in the late 1980’s, the Parc de la Villette is the biggest park in Paris with an area of 55 hectares. It is set on the site of the huge Parisian slaughterhouses from Napoleon III’s reign. The park hosts attractions for children and public facilities devoted to culture, such as the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie and La Géode, a domed theatre.

Created during the 19th century, the Buttes-Chaumont park is hilly enough to offer an open view over Paris, including views of the Sacre-Coeur and the Eiffel tower. It is the third biggest park in Paris after the Parc de la Villette and the Tuileries Garden.
(Metro station: Buttes Chaumont or Botzaris) - Canal de l’Ourcq
The Ourcq Canal was created at the beginning of the 19th century with the purpose of supplying Paris with drinking water. It crosses the 19th arrondissement and offers possibilities for leisure, such as cruises or cycling alongside it.

By rail: Eurostar go from London to Paris in just 2h35.
By car: You can travel by car to Paris by taking the ferries which go from Dover to Calais and then you can take the Motorway to Paris.
You can also cross the channel with the Eurostar and stop at Calais. Then you will travel on the motorway directly to Paris.
