Overview
Haute Loire is located in the south-central France and is a department of the French administration. It is named after the Loire River that flows through it. Moreover, Haute Loire is part of the current region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and is surrounded by the departments of Ardèche, Lozère, Canta, and Loire. The department of Haute Loire also covers the upper reaches of the Loire which also comprises of the Loire Valley. It also surrounds the mountains in the central location of Massif. It is one of the original 93 departments of France that were created in 1790 during the French Revolution. The capital and largest town in the place is called Le Puy-en-Velay. The department has four mountain ranges that run from north to south. This department of France has attractive landscapes and is quite popular with tourists.
Climate
The oceanic influence is evident on the plateaus of the west and on the volcanic mountains of the Sancy and Dômes that are directly exposed to marine disturbances. The continental control is present in the central regions with lowest rainfalls in winter while the Mediterranean influence with its abundant autumn rains plays on the south-east edge of the Haute-Loire. The climate of this area is reminiscent of that of a mountainous region. It was warm and short summers. On the contrary, winters are cold and long. The average temperature during seasons is 20 degree Celsius, and the average temperature during winters is 3 degree Celsius.
Gastronomy and local products
The local cuisine is resplendent with the products and produces for which the area is rightly famous. Moreover, they are utilized in a wealth of delicious recipes that are always improved by our most excellent chefs such as green lentils from Le Puy that are also known as salted meat products from the mountains.
